I am Jisa Mariam Manoj, a 2nd-year BSc Bioinformatics [Honours with Research, 4years] student at Amity University,Punjab, and my journey here so far has been both intellectually stimulating and personally rewarding. From the very beginning, I approached this course with a strong sense of curiosity and a clear intention to build a solid academic foundation. Amity has provided me with exactly that, an environment that encourages disciplined learning, critical thinking, and consistent growth. The curriculum here is intelligently structured. It does not simply expose you to concepts but challenges you to understand why they matter. Every semester has felt like a natural progression, building on what came before and preparing me for what lies ahead. The lab sessions have been a highlight of my academic experience. These sessions have made me not just a better student, but a more methodical thinker. The faculty here is exceptional. The professors are not only well-versed in their fields but are also deeply invested in the academic progress of their students. They have been accessible, encouraging, and honest, even beyond the classroom. What I did not fully anticipate when joining was how much the university environment would contribute to my growth outside of academics. Being part of the dance club has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made here. It offered me an outlet for creative expression and a sense of community that beautifully complements the rigour of my academic life. Collaborating with peers in the club, performing together, and simply sharing a passion outside the classroom have enriched my time at Amity in ways I did not expect. Beyond the dance floor, engaging in academic discussions, collaborative coursework, and various campus activities has helped me develop a stronger voice. I have become more articulate, more confident, and more aware of what I am capable of. Amity University,Punjab, has given me structure when I needed it, space when I needed to grow, and support throughout. It has shown me that a fulfilling university experience lives in the balance between intellectual pursuit and personal passion. As I move forward in my studies, I carry with me a strong foundation, a deepened love for bioinformatics, and the quiet confidence that I am exactly where I am meant to be.

As a M.Sc (Hons) Bioinformatics graduate from Amity University Punjab, I, Prathamesh Shelke, look back on my two years in the program with immense gratitude and a deep sense of accomplishment. The faculty members were truly inspirational. Not only for their knowledge and dedication to teaching, but also for the unwavering trust and encouragement they placed in me, even during moments when I doubted myself. Their constant motivation pushed me to explore beyond my comfort zone and strive for excellence. The curriculum struck an impressive balance between core biology and the computational side of bioinformatics. It allowed me to dive deeply into both worlds strengthening my understanding of biological principles while building strong skills in data analysis, programming, and computational tools applied to life sciences. This well-rounded foundation played a key role in helping me successfully clear highly competitive exams like CSIR-UGC NET (Life Sciences), GATE XL, and GATE BT. Those qualifications would not have been possible without the rigorous yet supportive academic environment at Amity. Beyond the classroom, the university offered a vibrant campus life. I was actively involved in a few student clubs and participated enthusiastically in numerous extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives. These experiences helped me grow personally, build lasting friendships, develop leadership qualities, learn the value of teamwork and time management skills that complement my technical expertise perfectly. My name is Siddhant Gajjar, and I am currently enrolled in my BSc of Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine taking place with this journey that has defined growth and exploration. I was motivated when I started this program by curiosity about how life works at its most basic level. This curiosity eventually developed into an interest in genetics, molecular biology and bioinformatics. It has facilitated not only my academic learning but also adjustment to research and exploration of problem solving over this incredible educational environment. The mentorship of faculty has been one of the strongest pillars of my experience. The knowledge they possess, coupled with their approachability when it comes to guiding students has made all the difference in my approach towards academic hurdles and career choices. There is a great mix of theory versus practical in the curriculum. I am skilled in techniques like DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, microbial culturing and spectrophotometry which I have learned through laboratory experience. These experiences have been further strengthened through internships, where I worked on advanced techniques including microarray technology, Sanger sequencing, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and RNA sequencing, along with downstream data analysis. Beyond the laboratory, my journey has also involved developing computational and analytical skills. Working with tools like BLAST, NCBI databases, and primer design software, along with programming in C and R, has allowed me to bridge biology with data science—an intersection that is becoming increasingly important in modern research. In addition to academics, I have actively focused on building discipline, consistency, and a growth-oriented mindset—qualities that are essential both in science and in life. My time here has not only helped me strengthen my technical skills but has also prepared me to think critically, adapt quickly, and approach challenges with confidence. As I continue progressing in my academic and professional journey, I carry forward a strong foundation of knowledge, practical skills, and the ability to learn independently. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences in Amity University Punjab that have shaped me into a motivated and future-ready individual, eager to contribute meaningfully to the field of genetics and molecular medicine.

I am Jaanvi Gupta, a fourth-year B.Tech Biotechnology student at Amity University Punjab, and my journey here has been a phase of continuous growth, exploration, and self-discovery. When I joined Amity in 2022, I was someone who wanted to do more but was still figuring out how. Over time, the environment here pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and take initiative—whether it was in academics, leadership, or creative pursuits. What truly stands out about Amity is the support system. The faculty members are approachable and genuinely invested in student growth. Their guidance has helped me not just understand concepts better but also think more critically and apply my learning beyond the classroom. My academic experience has been strengthened through practical exposure in well-equipped laboratories and opportunities to engage with research. Presenting a research paper on targeting de novo synthesis of purines in Mycobacterium tuberculosis ,in journal club further enhanced my ability to analyze, present, and communicate scientific ideas effectively . At the same time, Amity has given me space to explore who I am beyond academics. I have been actively involved in organizing events, including being part of the team for Amiphoria 2024, and have hosted and anchored multiple events. These experiences helped me develop confidence, communication skills, and the ability to manage responsibilities effectively . One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been taking initiative and creating impact within the university. With the support of Amity, I conceptualized and led my own student initiative, “Safe Space,” aimed at encouraging open conversations around mental well-being. What makes this even more special is that the initiative continues to be followed even today, reflecting an environment where student ideas are truly valued and sustained. Another defining milestone for me has been becoming an author.
