My time at Amity University has been a really important phase in my life, both academically and personally. I wasn’t just focused on completing my degree I was genuinely trying to understand things deeply and push myself to do better every day. There were moments of pressure and self-doubt, but I stayed consistent and kept working through them. One thing I’m especially proud of is clearing two national-level exams, UGC-NET and GATE, during this journey. It wasn’t easy balancing everything, but the effort paid off when I secured admission into an IIT. That felt like a big milestone and a validation of all the hard work I had put in over the years. Alongside academics, I made sure to stay involved in extracurricular activities as well. I actively participated in events organized by the Eco Club, which gave me a chance to engage with environmental initiatives beyond the classroom. I was also involved in organizing conferences, where I learned how to manage responsibilities, coordinate with teams, and handle things on a larger scale. Apart from all this, I’ve always tried to stay grounded and supportive towards people around me. I value honest connections and teamwork, and I think that reflects in the relationships I built during my time here. Looking back, Amity gave me the space to grow, make mistakes, learn, and improve. I’m leaving with not just a degree, but a lot of experiences and lessons that I’ll carry forward.

Being part of the Integrated B.Sc.–M.Sc. Geology program has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic journey. What I appreciate the most about our department is how personal and supportive the environment is — it feels more like a close-knit community than a formal classroom. The faculty genuinely understand each student’s pace and strengths, and they always go out of their way to guide us in the best way possible. I’ve enjoyed every course so far, and the lab sessions have been especially exciting. Getting to observe rocks, minerals, and fossils under the microscope has made the subject come alive for me, and all the hands-on work has really built my confidence in understanding geology beyond textbooks. Field exposure has been one of the biggest highlights of my program. We’ve explored the Lesser Himalayas and Shivaliks in Himachal Pradesh, spent a week studying exposures and fossils around Rishikesh, and visited places like Geological Survey of India (Chandigarh), Atomic Minerals Directorate (Delhi) etc. Each trip helped me connect what we learn in class with real geological formations and processes — something that’s hard to experience through theory alone. I also had the chance to undergo training at BCCL Dhanbad, Tata Steel's Joda, Noamundi and Katamati Mines; SAC–ISRO Ahmedabad, and ECL Asansol. These experiences gave me a glimpse into the industry side of geology and helped me understand how the subject works in real-world situations. Overall, campus life has been simple but comfortable, and the academic exposure I’ve received has truly made my five years here meaningful. I’ve learned a lot, seen a lot, and grown a lot — and I’m genuinely grateful to be part of this department.
