The Amity School of Physical Sciences (ASPS) was established under the aegis of Amity University Punjab with a vision to emerge as a Centre of excellence in the fields of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. The School is driven by a strong philosophy of fostering rigorous undergraduate and postgraduate education while promoting high-quality research in emerging areas of Applied Sciences that contribute meaningfully to the nation and the global community. ASPS offers carefully designed curriculum that are both comprehensive and aligned with international standards, ensuring that students gain strong conceptual foundations along with advanced analytical and research skills. The programs provide wide avenues for academic growth, competitive examinations, and interdisciplinary research.
The School has well-equipped, in-house laboratories and research facilities that support hands-on learning, experimentation, and innovation.
ASPS comprises two departments:
Together, these departments are committed to nurturing scientific temperament, critical thinking, and professional competence among students.
Department of Physics:
The Department of Physics offers a strong academic foundation through its B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in Physics. In addition to the core courses, the department also delivers compulsory physics courses to B. Tech. first-year students Engineering Physics, Physics for Semiconductor Devices, Basic Physics for Biosciences, Basic Physics for Forensics, and several other applied physics courses offered to undergraduate engineering and allied programs.
Department of Mathematics & Statistics:
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics offers a strong academic foundation through its B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. programs in Mathematics & Statistics. In addition to the core courses, the department also delivers compulsory Mathematics & Statistics courses to B. Tech. first-year students Mathematics-I (Linear algebra, calculus, vector calculus), Mathematics-II (Differential equations and Complex analysis), Discrete mathematics, fundamentals of statistics and several other applied mathematics & statistics courses offered to undergraduate engineering and allied programs.
The school is supported by well-equipped UG and PG laboratories, enabling students to gain hands-on experience and practical training in various areas of physics, mathematics & statistics. These laboratories promote experiential learning and help students build strong experimental and analytical skills.
