event

Amity University Punjab organized Anti-Ragging Week with a series of engaging and thought-provoking activities to spread awareness, promote inclusivity, and reaffirm its zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. The week-long campaign successfully brought together students, faculty, and campus clubs to foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Highlights of the Week:

1. Open Mic Session

Led by Dr. Pallavi Goswami (Associate Dean, ASLC), students from across disciplines shared powerful perspectives on the meaning of a ragging-free campus, the importance of inclusivity, psychological impacts of ragging, and the strict legal consequences attached to such acts. Heartfelt speeches, personal stories, and strong advocacy for empathy concluded with a collective pledge: Say No to Ragging, Yes to Respect & Inclusion.

2. Nukkad Natak

The Rotaract Club and NSS delivered a hard-hitting street play using satire, slogans, and real-life inspired acts to shed light on the harmful effects of ragging. Key messages such as “Say NO to Ragging: Together We Learn, Together We Grow” and “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully” resonated with the audience, leaving a lasting impression on the need for respect and camaraderie on campus.

3. Awareness Workshops

The Department of Psychology conducted interactive workshops for UG and PG students, sensitizing them on fostering inclusivity, accessing support systems, and the availability of counseling services. These sessions encouraged active participation and instilled responsibility and respect among learners.

4. Creative Competitions

The NSS and Rotaract Club hosted Poster Making, Slogan Writing, and Essay Writing competitions under the themes “Say NO to Ragging: Together We Learn, Together We Grow” and “Be a Buddy, Not a Bully.” With over 60 participants, the competitions promoted creativity, critical thinking, and social responsibility.

5. Quiz Competition

The Amity School of Biological Sciences organized an engaging quiz under the theme “Say No to Ragging, Yes to a Joyful Campus.” With 8 teams and 46 participants, the event encouraged teamwork and awareness, culminating in Team Biotechnos winning the top spot.

Through these activities, Amity University Punjab reaffirmed its commitment to a ragging-free, inclusive, and joyful campus — celebrating student unity, peer bonding, and the spirit of mutual respect.
